Description from the seller
An enchanting pair of zoomorphic containers (or small boxes) in the shape of a wild duck, made of tin-glazed ceramic, fully hand-sculpted and hand-decorated.
The original manufactory is the famous and ancient Barettoni (formerly Antonibon) manufactory located in Nove di Bassano, heir and continuator of one of the most prestigious ceramic traditions of the Venetian Republic.
These iconic collectible objects feature a mid-horizontal opening that separates the lid from the main body, echoing the 18th-century historical tradition of serving dishes and premium pâté containers.
The painted finish is done freehand in polychromy with rich shades of brown, green, white and blue, finished with a glossy protective glaze that gives great vitality and brightness to the colors.
A decorative set of great character, ideal both as a refined interior accent for kitchens and dining rooms, and as a collectible for lovers of Italian artistic maiolica.
Slight signs of time and wear clearly visible in photos.
Photos as an integral part of the lot description.
Insured and traceable shipping.
