Artist Jone Hopper presents Le grand sorcier, a mixed-media on canvas, 50 cm by 40 cm, signed by hand, original edition, created from 2020 onwards, originating from France and sold directly by the artist, with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Born in 1977, Jone Hopper is a French artist.
In the late 1980s, he cuts his teeth on the street through an emerging movement at the time, graffiti.
He tags his name on the streets, on walls and on trains.
Recognized for his characters and aerosol signatures, he founded the TBS (The Brutal Style) collective with Skepa and a few other committed graffiti writers.
We know little about him as the artist remains faithful to the spirit of graffiti and wishes to stay anonymous, believing that the work should be showcased and not the individual.
Non-existent on social media, absent from openings, a faceless artist, he remains a true mystery except for a few gallery owners in the know.
He compares his painting to a hip-hop track, drawing on Basquiat, Keith Haring, Picasso, Matisse, Andy Warhol, or even Bacon; he draws from all art movements, from Modern to Contemporary, passing through Classical, acting like a sampler... he samples, cuts, assembles and thus creates new images.
- Mixed media: aerosol, pastel and acrylic on canvas
- With certificate of authenticity
