Mara. J XXL - Lapis Nightfall

A deep blue occupies the entire surface, from the luminous cobalt in the upper part to the ultramarine, almost black, gathering below. Among the layers, barely perceptible leaves emerge, pressed into the material like silhouettes held back by shadow, and small bright points of light ignite here and there like nocturnal pollen suspended in the air. Thin vertical stems cross the field of color, barely visible, as if the vegetation continued to grow even in the dark. The painting is dense and velvety, built up with successive glazes that yield a bottomless depth. It is night seen from inside a garden, when colors retreat and only the breath of the plants remains.
