About the work:
The artist's works mainly depict men, captured in their intimacy, vulnerability or contradictions. Through them, she denounces certain masculine taboos and questions the injunctions.
The artist designs and cuts her stencils herself. She collects old magazines to reuse their paper for the collage. Each work is unique due to this technique. The finishes and details are done with oil pastels and the background with oil paint. Nothing is digital.
About the artist:
Born in 1986 in La Louvière (Belgium), G. Carta lives and works today in France and Spain.
Her art is a quest for identity, deep values, deconstruction and reconstruction. Each work is an invitation to vulnerability, a plunge into her raw and sincere reality."
