In the Voyeur series, masculine intimacy arises from the suspended moment between getting dressed and undressing, when what was hidden is preparing to be revealed. The tension between the parts of the body that are covered by clothing and those that are naked transforms the unveiling into subtle insinuations of erotism. These interrupted gestures that speak to us of the transition from one state to the other – dressed and undressed - gain meaning in the presence of an audience that watches them.
Patrícia Trindade (1989) is a Portuguese artist with a degree in Fine Arts and a Master's in Painting, both from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. Although she has devoted herself over the years to various painting series with different themes, the male figure has become the central element of her work. This has served as a springboard for various approaches and narratives—from objectification of the body, to erotism, to homosexuality and voyeurism—that question the usual representations of virility and the passivity of the genders in iconographic representations.
*Framing-free painting - the image serves only as a presentation suggestion.
*IMPORTANT: Due to restrictions imposed by Portuguese carriers and shipping limitations beyond my control, orders will not be shipped to the United States.
