Info from Google:
In the history of tennis in Tunisia (during the French protectorate) the 1920s and 1930s were a boom period. Although there was no internationally known “Latinia” championship, tennis in that region was dominated by specific clubs and tournaments:
The Gouttenoire dynasty: In the 1920s and 1930s the brothers Georges and Henri Gouttenoire dominated the Championnat de Tunisie de tennis. Georges won the national title in 1927 and 1929; Henri won in 1928.
Carthage: The Tennis Club de Carthage was at the time an important center for the sport. In 1929, well-known international tennis tournaments were organized here by local pioneers such as Mostafa Benjemia.
