Description from the seller

The item for sale is an antique 4/4 violin made before 1900, attributed to the Austrian school.
The instrument was assessed by a professional luthier in 2018.
The maker remains unknown, and the instrument has no label.
The violin is carved from high-quality luthier’s wood:
top plate – two-piece spruce,
back plate – uniform flame maple,
sides – flame maple,
headstock – uniform flame maple.
The instrument is finished in a brown varnish, which has preserved the natural patina resulting from age.
The condition is good. The top plate, back, and headstock are in good condition. In the right waist there is a professionally glued crack in the rib. On the back plate there are lacquer wear marks, normal signs of use appropriate for a more than hundred-year-old instrument.
Body dimensions:
back plate length: 359 mm,
upper bout width: 164 mm,
lower bout width: 200 mm.
I am attaching to the violin a luthier’s opinion dated 27 November 2018, confirming the dating, the workshop (school) of construction, and the instrument’s condition.
