Paper work by Peter Robert Keil (born 1942 in Züllichau/Pommern). Acrylic on paper, signed in the bottom right: P. Keil. Framed behind a passe-partout with glass. Dimensions of the representation: height ca. 60 cm, width ca. 40 cm. Dimensions with frame: height ca. 73 cm, width ca. 53 cm, depth ca. 3 cm.
The painter and sculptor Peter Robert Keil was born on 6 August 1942 in Züllichau, Pomerania. After he began training as an art locksmith in 1956, he studied from 1959 to 1961 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He maintained contacts with other well-known artists such as Georg Baselitz and Markus Lüpertz. From the early 1960s he lived and worked in various cities such as Paris, London, Berlin and in the United States as well as on Mallorca. During his time in Spain he also met Joan Miró several times in his studio. All these experiences are reflected in his extensive oeuvre and attest to a correspondingly rich variety. He has been and remains successful in a variety of fields within the visual arts. Currently, Peter Robert Keil lives and works again in the USA.
