Zolfi Almagia Original Vintage Italian Poster by Hohenstein 1950
Artist: Adolfo Hohenstein (Saint Petersburg, 18 March 1854 – Bonn, 12 April 1928) was a German painter, advertiser, illustrator, set designer and costume designer. He's considered the father of the Italian poster art and an exponent of the Stile Liberty, the Italian Art Nouveau. Together with Leonetto Cappiello, Giovanni Mario Mataloni, Leopoldo Metlicovitz and Marcello Dudovich, he's considered one of the most important Italian poster designers.
Description: This original poster is an advertisement for Zolfi Almagia. The image features Bacchus and a centaur, and has a mythical quality as sulfur dust is blown upon golden grapes. This is an industrial ad for a sulfite refinery, sulfites being widely used in winemaking for perservative and antibacterial properties.

The poster shows signs of wears and tears on the edges as visible on the back, so it would need to be backed on linen. The art itself does not show any missing parts.
I brought this poster from France when I moved with the rest of my collection but unfortunately I did not check the cushioning inside the tube with explains the creased edges.
