This bag is a very interesting and distinctive vintage piece from Louis Vuitton.
It is the Randonnée model, a shoulder/backpack bag inspired by sailor or hiking bags (the name "Randonnée" indeed means "hike" in French).
Here are the main details of this model:
Characteristics of the Model
• Design: It features the classic Monogram canvas with Vachetta leather trim (natural cowhide leather that darkens over time, taking on an amber patina).
• Structure: It is a tall bucket bag with a rigid, leather-reinforced base. The closure is via the strap system: by pulling the handles, the top tightens.
- Dimensions: GM version.
• Accessories: Includes a removable leather "luggage tag" (name tag), visibly hanging on the side in the photo.
Condition: excellent
Vachetta Leather: The leather has already developed a beautiful honey/golden patina. Some typical signs of use are visible, such as small water marks or superficial scratches on the base and on the vertical straps, typical of untreated natural material.
• Monogram Canvas: excellent condition, with no cracks or obvious fading.
Some small barely visible signs.
• Hardware: The brass buckle shows a slight oxidation, a sign of authenticity and the passage of time, but it can be easily polished if desired.
