Maikel Sotomayor's work “Flow” presents a scene of deep emotional and symbolic ambiguity: two human figures are partially submerged in a body of water that shimmers with green, blue and gold reflections. The foreground figure, naked and serene, seems to gaze at the viewer with introspective calm, while the dark figure behind suggests a complementary presence —a shadow, a memory, or an energy that accompanies the movement of the water.

The aquatic environment is treated with broad, circular brushstrokes, evoking the idea of current, continuity, and transformation. The warm horizon, with oranges and greens, contrasts with the freshness of the water, creating a tension between interior and exterior, conscious and unconscious.
