Fourth edition, "revised, corrected and considerably enlarged," containing in full the "Treatise on Legal Exhumations." Appointed Professor of Forensic Medicine in 1819, Orfila is one of the pioneers of legal toxicology. His Treatise on Forensic Medicine achieved great success from its first edition in 1821 and was translated into several languages. The plates show cadavers after exhumation in advanced stages of decomposition.
