Philippe Gourdon was born in Paris in 1958, and divides his time between the Côte d'Azur and the Périgord. After several years of studying drawing from live models in the 1980s (Place des Vosges in Paris), he would not begin his career as a painter until 30 years later.

Philippe Gourdon est né à Paris en 1958, il partage son temps de vie et de travail entre la côte d'Azur et le Périgord. Après plusieurs années d'études du dessin d'après modèles vivants dans les années 80 (place des Vosges à Paris), il ne débutera sa carrière d'artiste peintre que 30 ans plus tard.
Son sujet de prédilection, le corps. Le corps, dans ce qu'il a de plus universel en même temps que de plus singuliers, de plus familiers et intime en même temps que de toujours étranger. Le corps comme expression des émotions les plus secrètes...
