Gitanilla, oil on canvas by Francisco Benítez Perea (Morón, Seville, Spain. 1940-2008). Painter descendant and prominent figure of the Seville School in the second half of the 20th century, alongside Monedero, Ressendi, Manuel Flores, A. Rodrigues Almanza... and founder of the Morón de la Frontera Painting School. Seville.
Was a prominent painter with works from various periods and styles: magical realism, realist genre scenes, social denunciation... Painter representative of the golden age of Flamenco in Morón during 1960-1970 through his Andalusian vanguardism, the foremost forerunner of Antonio Adelardo García's style. He has won various national and international awards and held numerous exhibitions.
This work belongs to the traditional realist series, a style he practiced on his return from Catalonia to his hometown for the national decorating market during the late 1970s.
