LeYack, The Enigma of the Hour - Hand-signed, a 2022 limited edition giclée print on canvas by LeYack, 60 x 40 cm, signed on the front and back, produced in France and sold directly by the artist, in good condition, with a certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
Frontal composition, with an almost hieratic symmetry. Resting elbows on the bright edge of a pool, two bathers fix the viewer: on the left, an orange swimsuit and smoked round sunglasses under a blue swim cap; on the right, a navy-stripe swimsuit and a gold-yellow swim cap, chin resting on clasped hands. Between them, exactly centered, a seagull faces them, a third figure of equal dignity. Under the coping, turquoise water returns the three figures in wavy, blurred, almost ghostly reflections. Semiotically, the painting plays on doubling and mirror: two women, two caps, two reflections, a central axis occupied by the bird — the whole forms a static rebus where the bathers’ frontal gaze defies ours. The orange-red of the swimsuit cuts through the layered blues of the sky, the wall, and the water; the scarlet lips punctuate the cool palette. Smooth finish, midday light, atmosphere of a waking dream.
