Oil on canvas painting, a still life depicting a parrot from the Emilia school of the 17th century. The work shows a still life with an exotic parrot with wings spread, inserted into a dense composition of foliage and dull flowers in the background. It displays a typically Baroque approach characterized by strong chiaroscuro and an atmosphere of shadow from which emerge the warm colors of the parrot's plumage. It can be dated to the end of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century, based on stylistic features and the subject matter, oriented toward attribution to the Emilian and Lombard school, strongly compatible with the use of dark, wooded backgrounds ( associated with authors such as Giambini and Angelo Maria Crivelli). The canvas twenty years ago underwent a restoration intervention, including re-lining.
