Description from the seller

As seen in the pictures, the metal plate on the top is slightly bent and not cut straight. Since this is a found item from the street, it has always been like that from the start and is thus part of the artwork.

TONA lives in Hamburg and is one of the defining figures of contemporary stencil art. Active since 1999, he has worked consistently with hand-cut stencils since 2002.

His works are based on his own photographic studies that arise during travels. From these he develops precise, multi-layered image motifs in a reduced color palette and clear formal language. At the center is the sensitive observation of human perception and everyday situations.

Characteristic are technical precision and the deliberate incorporation of impermanence—patina, materiality, and urban change become part of the work. In addition to works in public space, TONA creates large-format murals and presents his work internationally in exhibitions and collections.
