The eighteenth-century medical historiographical work focuses on the figure of Asclepius of Bithynia, a famous Greek physician who lived in the 1st century BC and achieved enormous success in Rome. Antonio Cocchi (Benevento, August 3, 1695 – Florence, January 1, 1758) was an Italian doctor, naturalist, and writer.

Engraved portrait of the Author drawn by Leonardo Frati and etched by Veremondo Rossi. Frontispiece printed in red and black. Wide margins and pages generally clean. The fascicles are a bit distant from the binding but still solid. A complete and usable copy.
