AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful Indian Scolecite Geode (lot of 3).

Scolecite is a mineral — a hydrated calcium and aluminium silicate (tectosilicate) — belonging to the zeolite group.

Scolecite is the typical fibrous zeolite, possessing a monoclinic crystal structure characterised by a single binary axis and one plane of symmetry. Scolecite has a density of 2.3 g/cm³ and a hardness of 5.5 on the Mohs scale. It shows good cleavage and a conchoidal fracture. It occurs as thin, striated prismatic crystals, white or colourless, gathered in fan-shaped clusters or fibrous-radiating masses. Scolecite's rod-like crystals are thicker than those of natrolite, though the two are not always easy to tell apart with the naked eye, as they closely resemble one another.

The lot consists of 3 geodes with individual weight of approximately:

Geode 1: 0.50 kg
Geode 2: 0.21 kg
Geode 3: 0.20 kg
Total weight: approximately 0.91 kg
