Brand Wilier Triestina, Model Cromovelato Ramato, a pre‑2000 steel‑frame road bicycle with rim brakes and mechanical gears, located in Italy and used.
Description from the seller
The Wilier Triestina "Ramata" is one of the most celebrated, recognizable, and sought-after vintage bicycles among collectors worldwide.
A true gem of Italian cycling craftsmanship, it owes its fame to an unmistakable aesthetic that blends retro elegance with a painting process that was unique for its time.
The "Secret" Behind the Color: *Cromovelato*
The feature that immediately catches the eye is its mirrored copper color (hence the name "Ramata"). This captivating finish is not merely paint, but the result of a complex technique known as *cromovelato*:
> Historical Note: The brand was founded in Trieste (hence "Triestina") in the post-WWII era. The acronym W.I.L.I.E.R. stands for "*W l'Italia Liberata E Redenta*" ("Long live a liberated and redeemed Italy"), a patriotic slogan linked to the history of the city.
The bike retains its original paintwork; while there are some minor imperfections due to age and use, they are not overly noticeable.
Please note that this is the "Super Leggera" (super-light) model, meticulously detailed—including the "W" pantographs on the frame lugs, a feature found on only the rarest examples.
Measurements:
Seat tube: 53 cm (center-to-center)
Top tube: 55 cm (center-to-center)
Ideal for riders 170 cm to 180 cm tall; the seat post can be raised by another 3–4 cm if needed.
Geometry:
Features a shorter, more responsive wheelbase with steeper head and seat tube angles, which provided unprecedented agility and handling.
Lugs and Pantographs:
Showcases the signature investment-cast lugs with the Club logo (the famous Colnago ace of clubs) cutout or engraved on the brake bridge, fork crown, and under the bottom bracket shell.
Bike components:

Crankset with Wilier Superleggera pantographed chainrings (Made in Italy)
