Description from the seller

A single leaf from a Qur'an of the late Timurid Empire of central Asia (1370-1507) c1460, containing the final verses of the Meccan Chapter 70, Al-Ma'arij (Pathways of Heavenly Ascent), v.38-44. These verses describe the grim reality and humiliation disbelievers will face on the Day of Judgment, contrasting their arrogant worldly behavior with the inescapable reality of the Resurrection. It also contains the Surah of chapter 71, Noah, with the basmala and verse one.

The 10 lines of scripture are written in elegant Nashki in black, and contain diacritical red markings for devotees to follow when reading the scripture and simple gold verse markings (aya).

Some 'heavy; repair has been made to the rear of the folio to stabilise the header, but generally a sound manuscript given its age.

PLEASE NOTE. Shipping costs are not solely the cost of the delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the delivery agent for processing.
