Beautiful Chinese blue-and-white porcelain plate, made of hard porcelain and hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue.
The decoration consists of a central scene with birds among flowering plants, surrounded by a characteristic patchwork division in the kraak style with floral and symbolic motifs.
The back is equipped with the simple blue-painted decoration characteristic of Chinese export porcelain. The lightly undulating rim, the porcelain, the painting and the workmanship indicate production in the Qing Dynasty, probably during the Kangxi period.
