Large solid walnut wall mirror, finely carved – Italy – Late 19th / early 20th century

Elegant and substantial Italian wall mirror in solid walnut, finely carved, datable to the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th, inspired by Italian Renaissance models.

The frame features a refined architectural design with a rounded pediment, a rich central radiating carved motif, decorative frieze with semicircular elements, and harmonious lateral volutes. The deep moldings give notable three-dimensionality and attest to careful artisanal craftsmanship.

The mirror retains its bevelled glass, characterized by a broad and refined perimeter polishing that lends particular luminosity and elegance to the whole.

The back shows traditional construction with solid wood paneling and iron hardware of antique manufacture, elements coherent with a high-quality Italian craftsmanship.

The piece is presented in exceptional condition, hardly found for a piece of this era: the wood preserves an excellent patina, the carvings are perfectly intact and well defined, while the glass is bright and free of cracks. Only very slight signs of time are present, compatible with its age, with no missing parts or obvious restorations.
