Description from the seller

"INTENSE GLANCE"

A unique piece, conceived for connoisseurs and presented exclusively on Catawiki, ideal to enrich your collection of photographic art.

CRITICAL NOTE:
This photograph is, in my opinion, a major success because it manages to capture a paradox: an absolute stillness that nonetheless exudes vibrant energy.

The framing is bold. By placing the model's face at the center of a horizontal structure formed by her own arms, the artist creates a "frame within a frame." It forces the viewer to dive directly into the subject's eyes. The choice of black and white is not decorative; it is structural. It eliminates color “noise” to leave only the essentials: light, texture, and emotion.

The intention here seems to be a deconstruction of beauty. It does not seek to idealize or smooth the subject (as one would see in fashion or nude photography). Its intention is double:
Nothing in this photo (clothing, decor, excessive makeup) allows dating it precisely. It touches on the universal.
The use of side lighting (coming from the window) creates a modeling on the shoulder and arm that recalls classical sculpture. It is not just a photo, it is a study of light.

A press photo tells a fact. An art photo poses a question. Here, the model's gaze is a puzzle: is she tired, provocative, melancholic, or serene? It is the viewer who completes the work by projecting their own interpretation.

Visual Force: An intense presence that inhabits the space, ideal for a demanding contemporary art collection.

ART PRESS:
"There is an almost cinematic dimension in this composition. Alinghi plays with depth of field and motion blur on the arm to concentrate all sharpness on the face. This is not an image of contemplation, it is an image of confrontation. The balance between the softness of natural light and the hardness of the gaze creates a work of character, far from the smooth canons of fashion."

Born in Switzerland in 1996, Alinghi developed an early passion for photography, starting his practice at age 12. He later formalized his approach by pursuing university studies in photography and was quickly recognized by his peers, winning several prizes for the quality of his work.

Alinghi defines himself as an eclectic photographer, but his work centers mainly on two distinct areas: artistic nude photography and motorsports.
In his work around the female figure, he seeks to capture the essence of a beauty that is both wild and brutal and a harmonious serenity. His goal is to highlight these subtle contrasts through the development of dedicated photographic series.

Alinghi presents his work on his website and typically organizes one solo exhibition per year to share his latest creations.

"The photographer aims to explore the body in its natural environment, seeking authenticity and emotion rather than mere aesthetics." U.G.
