Description from the seller
After five years of keeping this guy very close and in my studio, I've decided that it's time for him to find a home :)
A unique piece - this painted stoneware sculpture was born out of a collaboration with an incredible industrial designer working on the border between analogue and digital. It was the second sculpture in the series that became Analog-Digital (the first has already gone to a private collector), which creates digital aesthetics using analogue methods, and vice versa.
A self-portrait recreating a 3D printed aesthetic in hand-built clay, this sculpture was also my first to have received serious recognition - being among the pre-selected sculptures for the Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno's extremely prestigious Figurativas exhibition in 2021.
Because of this unique distinction, and the special place this sculpture holds for me, I have kept it pretty close these past five years. But as mentioned, I think it's time for him to find his home.
* Shipping rates to be determined post-sale. The sculpture will be shipped from Italy in a specially-made wooden crate.
About me
I'm an interdisciplinary artist working mainly in figurative sculpture and installation. I have a fascination with process (personal, social, cultural, and technical) and the tension between the continuous and the ephemeral.
I have exhibited internationally, have received recognition for my work (including as a finalist for the Falling Walls Breakthrough Award in Art and Science), and teach extensively.
