The painting has been in decent condition for about 100 years. The painting’s support is a canvas. Craquelure is visible in places. The stretcher is labeled “Allgäu Mittagsspitze,” which is a well-known rock massif in the Allgäu. The wooden frame is somewhat newer than the painting (1950s/1960s). The actual image dimensions are 605 x 505 mm. It comes from a private purchase in southern Germany. It is insured and shipped well packaged.

The painting is not signed; but certainly by an academically trained painter.
