Figure - gnom mit saxophon - Patinated bronze

Beautiful sculpture of a kobold playing the saxophone, made of real bronze. The bronze of this sculpture has a guaranteed copper content of 75%, which significantly improves its durability and appearance.

This bronze sculpture was made using the lost-wax casting method, an ancient technique. A wax layer about 3 mm thick is applied to the mold, after which the rest of the cavity is filled with special clay. Once the preparations for the mold are complete, liquid bronze is poured into the mold from above, the wax melts and runs away; the resulting cavity is filled with bronze. After cooling, the mold is opened.
Thereafter the sculpture is worked on, polished, ground, deburred, etc. For larger bronze sculptures and statues, bronze is cast in parts.
