Horse and Dove
In Horse and Dove, the composition revolves around two animal figures occupying distinct territories within the image. The horse dominates the central space with a monumental and frontal presence, while the dove appears suspended in the upper left area, lending lightness and movement. Between them, a visual dialogue is established between strength and delicacy, earth and air.
The structure of the work is built through geometric planes that fragment the horse’s body and reorganize the surrounding space. The animal is not depicted from a naturalistic perspective, but as a sum of forms, curves, and chromatic blocks. The flowers introduce an organic rhythm that softens the architecture of the composition and connects the different areas of the canvas.
Color has a leading intensity. Blues, turquoises, and whites model the horse’s figure, while reds, oranges, and yellows generate contrast, energy, and depth. The dark areas act as visual pauses and reinforce the luminosity of the lighter shapes.
The brushwork is visible and expressive, especially in the transitions of the coat, the wings, and the vegetal elements. In some areas it defines the shapes with precision; in others it becomes freer, allowing texture variations and nuances. This combination of geometry, color, and gesture makes the scene a symbolic image of balance, vitality, and coexistence between opposing natures.
