La Guitarrista
In La Guitarrista, the female figure occupies the center of a composition built from fragmented planes and bold contours. The body, the guitar, and the urban space are integrated into a single visual structure, so that the music seems to order the whole scene.
The yellow guitar acts as the chromatic nucleus and focal point. Its luminosity contrasts with the range of greens, ochres, blacks, and pinkish tones that run through the figure. The background, formed by simplified architectures and overlapping perspectives, places the woman within an urban environment that is not represented literally, but as a succession of rhythms and volumes.
The composition combines curved and diagonal lines that suggest movement. The arms, the instrument, and the shapes of the dress guide the eye across the canvas, generating a sense of visual cadence. The figure not only holds the guitar: she seems to merge with it, becoming an extension of the sound.
The brushwork is visible, direct, and expressive. In some areas it defines the shapes with precision, while in others it leaves texture and color variations that add spontaneity. This tension between geometry and gesture reinforces the contemporary character of the work.
La Guitarrista transforms the act of playing into an image of concentration, identity, and presence, where music, figure, and city come together within a single pictorial pulse.
