Description from the seller

Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 53 x 36 cm
Description

With this work I wanted to capture that unique moment when the human being stops fighting the water and decides to become part of it. I drew inspiration from the absolute sense of freedom felt when diving into the sea, where the movement, light, and the energy of the waves surround the body and connect it with nature.
I worked the oil on canvas using expressive brushstrokes to convey the water’s dynamism and its reflections, aiming for each stroke to add strength, depth, and emotion. The figure, seen from behind with arms open, symbolizes surrender, inner peace, and the desire to embrace the unknown without fear.
My intention was to create a work that invites the viewer to feel the movement of the sea and to remember those moments when nature makes us feel free, alive, and in balance with ourselves.

Alejandro Carballosa, visual artist and Cuban designer residing in Spain, with a career marked by the exploration of strength, emotion, and beauty in the animal and human figure. His work combines technical realism with a contemporary vision, where color, light, and movement acquire a symbolic and expressive language.
Trained in visual arts and design, he blends the aesthetic sensitivity of classical art with modern resources, creating pieces that balance energy and introspection.
His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions, and is part of private collections in Germany and the United States.
