Rare first edition of Poezy by the Dutch poet Harmanus Asschenbergh (1726–1792), published posthumously in Amsterdam in 1793.
The work contains a collection of poems, verse letters and miscellaneous poetic writings. It is illustrated with a finely engraved allegorical title vignette designed by Simon Fokke and engraved by K.F. Bendorp, adding considerable bibliographical and artistic appeal.
Bound in an attractive contemporary or near-contemporary half leather binding with marbled paper-covered boards. A well-preserved and complete copy.
