Jos (Joseph) Van Hoyvelt is a Belgian landscape draftsman and painter whose period of artistic activity extends from the 1930s to the 1950s and who mainly worked oil painting on wood and on panel. His work shows a strong influence of the Flemish countryside, notably the rural Payottenland (west of Brussels) as well as the Mechelen region, through rural and pastoral landscapes (depictions of farms, Flemish courtyards and bucolic scenes) as well as urban and river views (quays of the Dyle in Mechelen, ...).
