A bit of history:
"Inspired by an engraving preserved at the Château de Malmaison, this scarf by Philippe Ledoux, one of the house Hermès' historic designers, features at its center the Phaéton of Napoleon I's son. This horse-drawn carriage derives its name from the son of Helios, the personification of the sun in Greek mythology. Seizing his father's solar chariot, of which he lost control, Phaëton perished after almost touching the world. This sumptuous little carriage is adorned with all the attributes of the empire. Built in 1812 by the coachbuilder Tremblay, it is kept at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, where the Emperor's son spent much of his life".
According to the Arfon art-square dictionary, it is considered fairly rare and fairly sought after (photo attached).
Very good vintage overall condition despite a tiny stain (last photo).
