Photographer-Artist – Creator of Contemporary Images
A multidisciplinary photographic artist, author and musician, David Law develops work centered on looking, presence and the perception of the image in urban space. He first made a name for himself with a series devoted to storefront mannequins, integrated into the city through a subtle play of reflections and superimpositions. This exploration of gaze and presence gave birth to an art book published in 2021. Later, intrigued by the singular aesthetics of collectible dolls and Japanese figurines, he continues this reflection by staging them in the streets of Paris and other European capitals. Through framing, light and composition, these inanimate models acquire a troubling, almost living presence, challenging our relationship to illusion and projection.
New Series – Private Worlds
In a repetitive façade where every window becomes a world, the light reveals fragments of silent lives. Behind each colored square, simple gestures — almost invisible — tell of intimacy, waiting and isolation. No glance crosses another, no story intersects. A collection of contemporary solitudes, locked inside their own luminous frames. This series was designed from workflows of contemporary visual creation, using graphic tools and current digital composition techniques.
Parcours
Since 2014, David Law has participated in around twenty contemporary art fairs per year in France and Europe. He is also the preferred photographer and videographer for several organizers of contemporary art fairs. Alongside his visual work, he develops a body of work as an author and musician, including 3 novels, a collection of short stories, a comic book, a photography book and 5 self-produced CDs. A singer-guitarist, he currently performs with the group FRENZY.
Édition & Fabrication
Each work is offered in a limited edition of 8 numbered copies + 4 artist’s proofs (A.P.), signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The prints are made on aluminium with a built-in rear mounting. Printing on luminous white vinyl, mounted between two aluminium plates, with soft UV- and moisture-resistant lamination, ensuring excellent durability, long-term stability of colors and a modern, contemporary rendering.
