Two men embrace standing in a field of gold, foreheads touching, at the moment of the kiss. One, naked, releases his strength into a sculptural line; the other, clothed in a long sheath studded with discs, spirals and flowers, tilts his neck under the caress — their hands clasp the napes as if to hold the world. Around them, gold leaf flakes and glints, punctuated by Byzantine sparks, while at their feet a dark meadow stars with stylized daisies, roses and cornflowers. The flesh modeled with warm naturalism dialogues with the flat decorative of the mantle: living body against ornament, human against icon. ORA VIENNE is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop and free figuration. Under the name ORA VIENNE, the Atelier revives Viennese Secession and the golden age of Gustav Klimt: gold backgrounds and gold leaf, Byzantine mosaics, ornamental motifs and sensual figures, where the decorative embraces the flesh.
ORA VIENNE gathers embraces and muses captured in the glow of gold: entwined couples, offered bodies, sparkling adornments, on precious backgrounds peppered with motifs. The through-line: a dialogue between Art Nouveau heritage and a contemporary gaze, where the painted surface and gold leaf enhance and transfigure the image printed.
