Description from the seller
EL GRAN JARRÓN is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. The vase sits at the center of the composition like an almost architectural presence. Its blue and white stripes confer a classical elegance, while the overflowing bouquet of lilies and yellow flowers introduces an organic vibration that breaks its symmetry. At its feet, lemons, limes, and an orange complete the scene with a counterpoint of freshness and Mediterranean sensuality.
The intense red background does not function here as a simple curtain but as an emotional surface that pushes all the elements to the foreground and makes them more tangible, more alive. On this warm atmosphere, the blue of the vase gains almost ceramic depth, and the yellows of the fruits and flowers seem to emit their own light.
The work dialogues with the tradition of classical still life, but it does so with a contemporary and bold reading: it does not seek restraint or naturalism, but the exaltation of color, of volume, and the decorative presence of everyday objects. Each element is arranged with a sense of abundant control, as if balance depended precisely on this exuberance.
“El gran jarrón” is a painting about the nobility of simple things when observed with intensity. A homage to the domestic object become the absolute protagonist, where ceramic, fruit, and flower unite to build a scene of chromatic luxury and radiant beauty.
