Anonymous - SPA Mineralwasser - 1930s

This old original poster from 1932 for the Belgian cult brand SPA is a very special poster. It remained unknown to collectors for many years until a few pieces were found a few years ago.

Exceptional and sensational is also the design, which recalls the great works of the Pop Art artist Andy Warhol. Mentioned as examples are the famous Coca-Cola bottles or the Campbell’s Soup cans. When you consider that this SPA poster was created as early as 1932, this work can be seen as a precursor to Pop Art.

The poster is produced as a fine lithography by the lithography print shop ARCITERE in Liège, printed with stone plates.
The colors are pristine, very well preserved.
It has a slight crease in the middle (as with all copies that have been found).
It has, as with almost all copies, water stains and minor flaws in the paper in the central crease area.
From the front only little is visible (see photo). Otherwise top!
