Emmanuelle Pellet - Au-delà

A young girl bursts forth from a silent landscape, among the bellflower petals of a giant lily of the valley. Her immense eyes invite the viewer to step through the threshold of a world where dream, memory, and imagination blend. The luminous blue of her belt lights the composition like a discreet presence, while the basket of flowers she holds tight becomes the symbol of a story to which everyone is free to craft their own tale.

The richness of this work lies as much in its atmosphere as in its material. The face and the flowers are threaded with cracks that inscribe time at the very heart of the painting. This deliberate patina becomes a pictorial language, evoking memory, the fragility of recollections, and the beauty of what endures through time. Between the heritage of old masters and a contemporary sensibility, the girl seems to emerge from a universal memory, suspended between reality and dream.

Between gentleness and mystery, Au-delà never fully reveals its secret. Its silent presence accompanies the gaze and continues to dialog with the viewer long after the first encounter.

About the artist
Historian by training, Emmanuelle Pellet studied at the École du Louvre and then at the Sorbonne before earning the Agrégation in Visual Arts (3rd place). After several years of teaching, she joined the Louvre Museum as head of educational outreach.
Her works have been shown in galleries in Paris, London, Singapore and Mauritius. They have been the subject of numerous publications and are now part of private collections in Europe, North America, Asia and the Indian Ocean.
