Libia ( d'epoca) - Lydia - Foldable bicycle - Seconda metà degli anni 70

I propose at auction a folding and travel bicycle from the brand "Libia", model "Lydia", from the mid-70s, which has a double value: as a travel bicycle, with a frame that can be disassembled into two parts and easily transportable by car, caravan, van or even trains, for holidays or business trips. I also propose the bicycle as a collectible object for those who own Graziella-type city bikes or as a decorative piece or display item in shop windows, or interiors of shops, agritourisms, lofts. The main feature of the bicycle, in addition to its period of origin and its diffusion, is the particular rust or metallized copper color that makes it an iconic object suitable to decorate spaces in industrial, modern art-pop styles or, with some touches, boho-chic environments. The bicycle with the "BULLHORN" handlebars was made with inexpensive materials that made it accessible to the general public, unlike more prestigious brands such as "Carnielli" or "Atala" which involved the more affluent classes. Also interesting are the brands of the various components, for example the steering lock, the saddle brand and the other parts, as shown in detailed photos that I recommend consulting for a correct impression of the lot and of its condition.

SOME TECHNICAL DETAILS OF THE BICYCLE:
Small-sized object intended for a woman of average height and weight but also usable by boys and girls or men of average height and standard weight. The frame is made of carbon steel, the handlebars, the rear and front fenders and the wheel rims with their spokes, the saddle supports and the crankset are chrome-plated steel.

CONDITIONS: In good overall condition with signs of age related to use. There are rust marks, for example, on the tube that connects the handlebars to the frame, as on one of the arms to which the pedal is attached. The finish of the frame is still nice but not perfect, and the front lamp, although vintage and coordinated with the bicycle, is not original. For a perfect object a conservative or non-conservative restoration would be necessary depending on the buyer’s preferences. I will ship the item wherever requested; however, for some continental or non-continental locations, following the awarding of the lot I reserve (but not necessarily) the possibility of additional shipping costs if they exceed those expected.
