Description from the seller

Original, fully handwritten letter by Edgar P. Jacobs (1904–1987), the famous Belgian comic author and creator of Blake et Mortimer. The letter is dated 3 April 1977, entirely in his own handwriting in French and signed with E. P. Jacobs.

In this personal correspondence, Jacobs addresses Mr. Vandenhaute. He describes the difficult period he is going through after a serious heart attack for which he was admitted to hospital in February. He also speaks of the worrying health condition of his wife, which forced him to nearly completely halt his professional activities. He asks the addressee to temporarily manage and organize a file with documents until he can resume his work.

This letter offers an exceptional insight into the final years of Edgar P. Jacobs and reveals the human side of one of the greatest names in European comics history.
