Grand modular bookcase FEAL Milano – aluminum and wood – Italy, 1956–1960
Important modular bookcase produced by FEAL Milano in the second half of the 1950s, expression of postwar Italian design and research on configurable systems in aluminum.
The structure is made of anodized aluminum tubular uprights with original cast-in joints branded:
FEAL MILANO – BREV. – PAT. U.S.A.
The patented system allows the fixation and adjustment of the shelves via original FEAL cylindrical elements, testimony to the high design and construction quality.
The shelves are made with a grooved extruded aluminum frame and a wood panel, a typical solution of high-end Italian production of the 1950s.
The modularity, the use of aluminum, and the purity of the lines make this bookcase an excellent example of Italian Modernism.

This is an extremely rare specimen, complete with the original FEAL-branded cast-in joints.
Structurally very good conditions.
Normal signs of age and use, fully compatible with the age of the piece.
