Fortunato Garcia - VESTIGE

This abstract work invites the observer to discover forms that emerge from matter and the layering of textures. Among textures, transparencies and zones of erosion, the presence of a bovine is hinted at, almost phantasmagorical, seeming to arise and disappear as the eye moves across the composition. The palette of ochres, browns, blacks, greens and turquoise blues creates an environment that is simultaneously earthy and ethereal, evoking the wear of time, memory, and the power of nature.

Technique:
Collage of prints on Chinese handmade paper, applied to canvas. Use of acrylic paints modified with alcohol and water, exploring dispersion, transparency and sedimentation reactions. The surface is subsequently subjected to controlled chemical erosion processes, which intensify texture and chromatic complexity, making each work unique and unrepeatable.

Fortunato Garcia's work has received very positive reception among international collectors. Only in June 2026 did the artist sell 10 works through Catawiki, to private collectors in Spain, Italy, France, Germany and the Netherlands — a reflection of the growing interest in his visual language across different European markets.
