Pipe - silvered metal

Fascinating and rare antique pipe of Thai origin (area of the former Kingdom of Siam), dating from the second half of the 20th century.
The object is a refined piece of Oriental craftsmanship, characterized by a complex workmanship. In the shape of a mythological peacock, a symbol of grace and beauty.
The item stands out for the incredible minuteness of the filigree weave and for the presence of movable details. ( pendant under the head. ) The brazier's censer is perfectly functional and solid.
Material: The piece is made of silver-plated metal (silver alloy, lower purity typical of South Asian artisanal productions of the era).
It features a splendid natural patina that attests to its age.
Workmanship: Entirely decorated, with filigree technique, with meticulous spiral motifs that cover the body of the bird and the beaker. Under the head is a small decorative mobile pendant.
Condition: The object is intact in its main structure, but for maximum transparency to collectors, the following characteristics are noted: the lid and brazier: the lid on the peacock’s back is present and the hinge works perfectly (it opens and closes without problems).
Details: inside the brazier (visible only with the lid open) a small finishing ring is missing, visible in the detail photos.
The inner conduit appears partially obstructed by deposits of time. (The draught is limited.) To preserve the filigree’s integrity, no invasive restorations have been performed.
It is sold as an art object, antique furnishing, or a piece for a high-end collection. A piece of great visual impact that should not be missing from a display case of Oriental objects.
