The object is a round storage box made using the dry lacquer technique. The box body is made of multiple layers of linen and natural raw lacquer, resulting in a lightweight yet sturdy structure that is resistant to deformation and cracking. The entire piece is coated with natural raw lacquer. The work follows the traditional dry lacquer production process: multiple layers of linen are pasted on, air-dried, and then hand-polished to achieve the desired shape. The lid is hand-carved with a central radiating starburst pattern, the grooves of which are filled with pure gold maki-e (gold-painted lacquer), creating a clear contrast between black and gold. The carving lines are of uniform depth, and the gold has a warm and delicate luster. The sides and bottom retain the original texture of the linen, while the interior is finished with matte lacquer, offering a smooth and elegant feel. The lid and mortise lid are finely trimmed and fit tightly without gaps. The entire piece is intricately crafted, showcasing three core lacquer techniques: dry lacquer casting, hand-carving, and gold maki-e.
