History: Purchased in 2026 from a Mauritanian meteorite hunter (Sidali M. Salem) as part of a 27-kilogram lot acquired by Lunarman Meteorites. A chondrite of exceptional beauty. It is an L6 type with a polished window on its base. The meteorite has a sculptural shape; its surface has been polished to a sheen by desert wind and dust, with remnants of the fusion crust tracing a striking line along its ridge. On the cut surface, small, sharply defined metal grains are visible within a light-colored matrix. Signs of oxidation are apparent around the metallic inclusions. Based on its degree of metamorphism, it likely originated from a large parent body.
It is a substantial, tangible size for beginning collectors, with the partial loss of the fusion crust revealing the surface in its natural beauty. An impressive piece whether displayed upright or lying flat, it easily draws the eye.
The cut window measures 50 x 33 mm, revealing the meteorite's beautiful internal structure.
