Chatelaine

Antique solid silver chatelaine, French work from the late 19th century, adorned with two substantial sliding blue glass medallions mounted on four flexible chains.

The two oval elements can be freely moved along the chains, offering a presentation that is especially original and decorative. The terminals feature a raised floral design. The closure system is an old screw clasp, visible in the photographs, ensuring a particularly secure closure when properly tightened.

At the eastern end hangs a tubular-shaped accessory richly guilloché. A metallic element protrudes from it, resembling an old pencil point or nib holder, without any guarantee of function. This element is sold as part of the object in its present condition.

Pounce marks (boar head) visible on the closure mechanism, confirming French solid silver.

Beautiful old patina preserved.
