Handmade solid silver centerpiece plate in the shape of a blooming corolla, of Italian origin, measuring 20 cm in diameter, 4 cm high and 3 cm deep, in poor condition with major cracks, damages or missing pieces, dating to the late 19th/early 20th century.
Description from the seller
Splendid and refined centerpiece (low pedestal) in the shape of a blooming corolla, entirely handmade with the complex technique of silver filigree. The object features an extremely rich pierced work, with spiral motifs, vegetal details and roses inside each lobe, arranged radially around a central geometric medallion. The object is without original punches, a characteristic extremely common for antique filigree from this area since the fineness of the weave did not offer flat surfaces for stamping. However, the metal has been successfully tested with a chemical reagent on a touchstone, confirming its authenticity in solid silver. Technical details:Material: Solid silver (tested)Hallmarks: Not presentTotal weight: 153 gramsMaximum diameter: 20 cmHeight: 5.5 cmEra/Origin: Late 19th / Early 20th Century (circa 1890-1940, Eurasian/Ottoman Manufacture)Object condition (Defects):Antique piece that shows normal signs of wear and age. As visible in the detail photographs, the object presents some structural defects: an old restoration weld on the upper edge (between two petals) and some missing sections with interruptions in the weave of the fine silver threads inside one of the radial sections. The piece retains all its antique and collectible charm.
