Description from the seller
Inspired by the fluidity of water and the dynamic energy of urban landscapes, this handcrafted stainless steel wall sculpture explores the relationship between material, light and movement.
The highly reflective surface captures the colours, light and atmosphere of its surroundings. As daylight shifts and the environment changes, the appearance of the artwork changes with it. Reflections move across the surface, creating an ever-changing composition that ensures the work is never experienced in exactly the same way twice.
In contrast to the refined and reflective front, the backside is intentionally left as raw metal. Here, the original character of the stainless steel remains visible, together with subtle traces of the making process: tool marks, scratches, welding marks and other signs of craftsmanship. These are not considered imperfections, but rather part of the history of the object — an honest glimpse into the material it came from and the hands and tools that transformed it.
This contrast between the finished and unfinished, the polished and the raw, is an integral part of the piece. While the front interacts with its surroundings, the reverse quietly reveals its origin and process.
The collection of handmade and hammered stainless steel wall sculptures reflects Studio Bries’ fascination with combining strong materials with organic forms. Each piece is individually shaped and crafted by hand, resulting in subtle variations that make every sculpture unique.
Studio Bries is a creative design studio and workshop inspired by both the natural world and the energy of contemporary city life. The studio explores materials such as metal, recycled plastics and concrete, continuously experimenting with techniques, textures and forms to create distinctive objects that balance art, design and craftsmanship.
Due to the handmade nature of the work, small irregularities and traces of the production process may occur. These characteristics are part of the identity of each individual piece and emphasise that no two works are exactly alike.
The artwork arrives ready to hang. Only a suitable screw or wall hook is required. A steel hanging wire and the Studio Bries logo are located on the backside of the sculpture.
The artwork is carefully packed in protective double-corrugated cardboard packaging and supplied with handling gloves.
