Flying People. - Unnamed lithograph. Depiction of three artists in frock coats, one twirling in a backward somersault through the air, the other two watching him with stoic expressions. Top hats and riding whips of the gentlemen have been laid on the ground; in the background on the left and right are further representations of the trio as a human pyramid. Pest, Laufer, ca. 1870. Blattgr.: 63 x 86 cm.
The unnamed poster shows members of the American Gymnastics Society by C. Merkel, who in 1871 toured at the Munich Zoological Garden, then located on the edge of the English Garden. The poster was acquired in connection with posters of this society and their Munich appearance.

Fliegende Menschen. -  Unbezeichnete Lithographie. Darstellung dreier Artisten im Frack, einer wirbelt im Salto rückwärts durch die Luft, die beiden anderen betrachten ihn mit stoischer Miene. Zylinder und Reitgerten der Herren wurden auf dem Boden abgelegt; im Hintergrund links und rechts noch jeweils Darstellungen des Trios als menschliche Pyramide. Pest, Laufer, ca. 1870. Blattgr.: 63 x 86 cm.
Das unbezeichnete Plakat zeigt Mitglieder der amerikanischen Gymnastiker-Gesellschaft von C. Merkel, die 1871 im Münchner Zoologischen Garten, damals am Rande des Englischen Gartens gelegen, gastierte. Das Plakat wurde im Zusammenhang mit Plakaten dieser Gesellschaft und deren Münchner Auftritt erworben.
