Biography:

Wags, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the career of a polymath artist whose creativity has stretched from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present through his father, a designer, Wags discovered at a very young age his first passion, musical creation. This passion guided him in his youth, and his early talents led him to make a bold decision: to invest the money destined for higher studies into creating his first album. Distributed by EMI, the album did not meet the expected success, but it marked the beginning of a richly experimental artistic career.

Alongside his musical career, Wags entered the advertising world as a designer/writer for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he put his creativity at the service of the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point came in 2005 when he became a cameraman, thus exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovered a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founded his own photography agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Wags made a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who became a major figure in world street art. A pioneer of computer-assisted art creation, Wags stands out with more than 3000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

Eager to explore new artistic universes, Wags is none other than Kobalt who signs under this pseudonym so as not to interfere with his usual work.

This contemporary figurative painting draws inspiration from classical realism and a modern glamorous aesthetic.
